Even though Charlie Lindgren is most likely to spend the majority of the season in the AHL, the Montreal Canadiens third-stringer will stay pay homage to a legendary Habs netminder this season.

The Laval Rocket's starting goaltender has honoured Canadiens goaltender like Jacques Plante, Ken Dryden and Patrick Roy in the past, but for the 2018/19 campaign, the 24-year-old has narrowed it down to one particular ‘tendy.

David Gunnarsson, one of the more popular and talented mask painters in the business, designed the mask. Gunnarsson reincorporated Roy's mask with the lines he wore during his time in Montreal before he was infamously shipped off to Colorado.

Roy's signature No. 33 is also featured on the mask as well as some historic photos of Roy in action.

The Habs signed Lindgren to a three-year contract, one-way deal worth $2,250,000, meaning he'll earn $750,000 regardless if he plays with the Rocket or sees some time with the Habs this season. In 14 games last year with the big club, Lindgren posted a 4-8-2 record with a 3.03 goals against average and a .908 save percentage.

Way to salute your elder crease companions, Charlie.
