Vancouver Canucks forward Nikolay Goldobin has signed a two-year deal with CSKA Moscow in the KHL, the league announced Thursday.

A first-round pick of the San Jose Sharks in 2014, the Canucks acquired Goldobin in 2017 as part of a deal that saw forward Jannik Hansen sent to San Jose.

Goldobin, a pending restricted free agent, recorded 19 goals and 50 points in 51 games for the AHL’s Utica Comets this season.

The 24-year-old made just one appearance for the Canucks during the 2019-20 campaign. Throughout his NHL career, he scored 19 goals and 27 assists in 125 games played, split between the Sharks and Canucks.

Goldobin’s new contract with Moscow will begin next season.
