Maple Leafs’ Jake Muzzin out vs. Flyers for personal reasons

Watch as Jake Muzzin is in some discomfort after taking a hit into the boards from Tom Wilson. Muzzin looked to have injured his lower body on the play and will not return.

Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Jake Muzzin won’t be with the team as it travels to Philadelphia for Saturday’s matchup against the Flyers, head coach Mike Babcock told reporters Friday.

Babcock said the rearguard was out for “personal reasons.”

Muzzin was at practice Friday, sporting a red non-contact sweater three days after leaving Tuesday’s contest against the Washington Capitals with a leg injury.

The Maple Leafs are 6-5-3 heading into Saturday’s game.
