About William P. Wilder ’40 Arena and Sports Complex
The William P. Wilder ’40 Arena & Sports Complex is named in honour of Bill Wilder ’40 and his $5-million gift to the arena campaign, the largest donation from an Old Boy in the history of the College at the time of its completion. More than $16.5 million was raised from benefactors, including parents and alumni. Their commitment made the new arena a reality in early 2009. The complex replaced the Patrick Johnson Arena, which was demolished in 2007. The facility houses one NHL-sized and one Olympic-sized rink, which is one of only four Olympic-sized ice surfaces in Ontario.
