GAME 3:
Coyotes (0-2-0) at Ducks (3-0-0)
Arizona will seek its first goal and first win of the season on Wednesday night when it skates vs. undefeated Anaheim for the second time in five days.

WHERE: Honda Center | WHEN: 7 p.m. (AZ time) | TV:

| RADIO:ESPN 620 AM

ABOUT THE 'YOTES:
• Arizona has yet to score a goal after two games this season, but is averaging 35.5 shots per game, which ranks sixth in the NHL.
"As much as we're getting chances and getting shots, I think we can have a better will to get to the net. I think we're getting pushed to the side a bit and I think we're passing up some shots even though we're getting shots," Head Coach Rick Tocchet said. " ... If you do the right things, good things will happen. I'm a big believer (that) if you're taking shortcuts, then it's hard to get out of a slump."
• Based off Wednesday's optional morning skate in Anaheim, it appeared the Coyotes would go with the same roster of players vs. Anaheim tonight as they used on Saturday.

Tocchet: Outlook Positive for Game No. 3

Antti Raanta will start in goal. Raanta stopped 41 of 45 shots in the first two games of the season and is one of eight NHL netminders to have given up four goals or less among goalies who have started at least two games.
Derek Stepan, who is currently tied for 23rd in the NHL with 12 shots on goal, will skate in his 600th NHL game tonight. Once he takes the ice, Stepan will become the first non-first round draft pick (second round, 51st overall) from the 2008 NHL Draft class to skate in 600 games. In fact, only eight other players drafted that year have played more NHL games than Stepan.
"It's cool," said Stepan, who's missed only 25 games since breaking into the NHL in 2010-11. "I give a lot of credit to the veterans when I first came in, and to my head coach, and to just knowing what it takes to keep your body in a spot to be able to play each night ... It's a big thing and something I work hard for - to try to be on the ice each night for our group. I like that I'm able to get to 600. Not many guys play one game in the NHL and I'm fortunate enough to have played 600."

Dylan Strome is leading the Coyotes in face-off winning percentage at 68.0. Strome has won 17 of 25 draws, including eight of 12 in the offensive zone.
• Michael Grabner has scored seven goals in 16 career games vs. the Ducks, including three in his first NHL hat trick in Anaheim as a member of the Vancouver Canucks on April 2, 2010.
• Josh Archibald, who missed the first two games because of an upper-body injury, skated with teammates twice this week but has not been cleared for contact.

ABOUT THE DUCKS:
• Anaheim beat Detroit, 3-2 in a shootout, on Monday in its home opener ... John Gibson became the first goaltender in franchise history to start and win the first three games of a regular season after stopping 19 of 21 shots and all three shootout attempts in that game ... The Ducks have started a season 3-0-0 for just the second time in franchise history (also in 2006-07) ... Anaheim has won nine of its past 11 games (9-2-0) vs. the Coyotes and own a 121:01 scoreless streak against them ... Max Comtois leads the Ducks and ranks tied for third among NHL rookies with two goals ... Jakob Silfverberg leads Anaheim in points with five (one goal, four assists) … Captain Ryan Getzlaf missed Monday's game because of a lower-body injury he suffered vs. the Coyotes on Saturday ... Forward Corey Perry underwent right knee surgery on Sept. 26 and is expected to miss five months.
'YOTES QUOTES:
• "I like the way we played the first two games, but now we have to find a way to win. That's our main focus. The Ducks are a good team and they collapse real well in front of their goalie, so it's pretty hard to get inside that. All they give you is from the outside so we have to get inside more, get in front of the net and shoot from the top." -- Richard Panik
• "(John) Gibson is a great goalie, but there are great goalies on every team in this League that can get hot at any time. We can't get frustrated by that. We've got to get more traffic at the net and start scoring some dirty goals." -- Vinnie Hinostroza
• "We have to find a way to score and that's the bottom line. We aren't too worried about it and we all know that it's going to come. If we play like how we played against Anaheim (on Saturday) then we will be successful and get a lot of wins. We just have to find a way to get that first one and the floodgates will open." -- Dylan Strome
