SUNRISE, Fla. -- Roberto Luongo tied Ed Belfour for third place in NHL history with his 484th victory when the Florida Panthers defeated the Los Angeles Kings 6-1 at BB&T Center on Saturday.

Luongo, starting for the first time in five games after spending time on the bereavement list, made 18 saves.
Aleksander Barkov, Jonathan Huberdeau and Keith Yandle each had a goal and an assist for Florida (27-25-8), which is 10 points behind the Carolina Hurricanes for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Eastern Conference. Jamie McGinn scored in his 600th NHL game, and Vincent Trocheck and Ian McCoshen also had goals.

"I'm not really much for milestones," Luongo said. "Listen, it's nice obviously to get those recognitions, but at the end of the day I just want to get wins for our club and obviously make a push here and try to sneak in back in the playoffs."
Dustin Brown scored for Los Angeles (23-32-6), which has lost a season-high seven in a row. Jonathan Quick made 17 saves before being pulled after allowing a sixth goal. Jack Campbell made two saves.

Four of the Kings' previous six losses were by one goal; the other two were by two goals.
"We haven't won, but we've played against some good teams and we've played hard," Los Angeles coach Willie Desjardins said. "We've been right in every game. This is the first one we haven't been in."
The Panthers broke the game open with three goals in the final 6:47 of the second period.
Huberdeau gave Florida a 2-1 at 13:33 when he scored on a breakaway after taking a loose puck at center ice after leaving the penalty box.
The puck came to Huberdeau after it rolled around the boards when Anze Kopitar's shot from the right circle went wide of the net.
"That was the difference, I thought, in the game," Panthers coach Bob Boughner said. "I thought for 10 minutes of the second period we weren't very good. We didn't generate a lot. We didn't spend a lot of time in their end. All of a sudden, he gets out of the box and he gets a goal and it's 2-1, and you see the bench automatically stand up a little bit. It was a huge goal in the game."

Barkov's 25th of the season made it 3-1 at 18:11 with the first of Florida's two power-play goals.
Yandle made it 4-1 at 19:22 with a wrist shot from the point through a screen.
The Panthers called a timeout before the two power-play goals.
"We had no choice, really," Boughner said. "I could see them huffing and puffing and we only had, what, 36 seconds or something like that. We knew that was a major turning point in the game if you can get that third goal. Obviously a two-goal lead, that was important. It paid off. The guys executed really well."
Trocheck gave Florida a 1-0 lead at 11:56 of the first period with his first goal since Jan. 21 before Brown made it 1-1 on a breakaway at 13:59.

McGinn, playing his second game of the season following a back injury, made it 5-1 at 6:14 of the third period before McCoshen scored at 6:42 for the 6-1 final.
"I'm just taking it all in right now," McGinn said. "Worked hard to get back, so it was nice to get rewarded tonight. It feels good for sure. More importantly, we got the win and played together and we played a full 60 minutes. The power play was outstanding. Guys were in front of the net. I don't think Quick saw much tonight."

They said it

"They kind of wore on us in the second period. We had some chances to go ahead by a couple. The second goal, I'll take full responsibility for that. I mean, shoot the puck and it goes around the net. You've got to hit the net there, and the puck goes around the wall right to the guy, he's got a breakaway and he scores. That's really a momentum-changer. But we took some penalties too and they scored two power-play goals and that was it." -- Kings captain Anze Kopitar
"I don't know what else you could say about the guy. He's world-class through and through, most humble guy I've ever met. It's phenomenal to see him on a daily basis. It feels like he's breaking a new record every day." -- Panthers forward Vincent Trocheck on goalie Roberto Luongo
